An estimated 111.6 million U.S. viewers watched at least six minutes of the 2010 World Cup on English or Spanish language networks, according to an analysis by The Nielsen Company. The figure is a 22% increase from the reach of 91.4 million U.S. viewers during the 2006 World Cup.

The 32 countries which qualified for the 2010 World Cup were placed into their eight groups in early Decmeber 2009. See the complete listing of the 2010 draw for each of the eight groups. This is the first World Cup with no debutant associations, although two of the qualifying countries (Slovakia and Serbia) have previously appeared only as parts of former competing nations.
